These measures are to secure computers used by children to prevent hackers and to prevent children from accessing inappropriate sites by using techniques available in some locations.

According to a recent study, the responsibility for protecting children from cybercrime lies primarily with the home, through parents taking measures to protect the child.

These include securing computers used by children to prevent hackers, and not allowing children to access inappropriate sites through the use of techniques available on some sites, such as on YouTube, with a parental security and surveillance system . Technology provides children with access to much of the necessary educational information and resources. Parents, however, have great difficulty in censoring what children see online, about their contacts and the information they share with others.

As we look at the general monitoring of children and adolescents on the Internet, we find that there is an increasing trend to follow up children and adolescents from home and school to government and private bodies represented by judicial and security bodies that have enacted laws and legislation to prosecute cybercriminals and child offenders on the Internet. In addition, a group of large programming companies have developed safe browsing programs for children that support parental control.

A recent survey by ICDL-Arab, the organization responsible for disseminating ICT skills and safe use of the Internet in the GCC, Iraq and Egypt, 2 included 404 students aged between 14 and 18 years of age States that 54% of UAE teenagers do not realize that online harassment is a crime punishable by law. While 60% of the respondents reported online harassment among their peers, and 64% reported that they did not have enough knowledge about online harassment or were unsure of its definition.

As for the exploitation of children and adolescents via the Internet, the same study indicated that 48% of teenagers spend their time on the Internet without adult supervision, while 16% of respondents said that they received requests for personal information from strangers. In addition, 16% of respondents said that they received inappropriate links and content.

Due to the lack of educational and entertaining content in Arabic for children on the Internet, attention is being directed to the creation of specialized websites that meet the needs of children and their families for the existence of innovative, safe content that contributes to the formation of a future generation of educated youth with the ability to carry forward the future banner with an open mentality Conscious without being influenced by extremist and suspicious ideas. This is why we launched "Shabol" in 2013 as the first Arab site to bridge the gap in the content of educational and entertainment Arabic safe for children on the Internet.

Shabol is a dedicated learning and entertainment platform for children aged 6-14 and provides secure online learning resources in the Middle East and North Africa region. Our vision at Shabloul is to develop rich and interactive Arabic content with a focus on achieving a safe educational goal for children. It is an integrated unit that provides children with a secure way to fully control their social networks and activities.
